First Chapter

Satyanarayana Bhagwan ki Jai

Once upon a time, eighty-eight thousand sages of Shaunakadi in Naimisharanya Tirtha asked Shri Sut ji, "O Lord! In this Kaliyuga, how will people without knowledge of Vedas get devotion to God and how will they be saved, therefore, O best of sages! It is our desire to hear the story that virtues are achieved in time and desired results are obtained.

The omniscient Shri Sutji said, "O respected among Vaishnavas! All of you have asked about the welfare of living beings." Now I will tell you the best fast, which Naradji had asked Lakshminarayan and Lakshmipati had said to Munishrestha Narad, so listen carefully:

Once upon a time, Yogiraj Naradji, wandering in many worlds with the desire of benefiting others, reached the land of death. Seeing almost all the human beings born here in many births and suffering from many sorrows due to their deeds, I thought, by making some effort, surely the sorrows of the living beings will be destroyed. Thinking like this in his mind, he went to Vishnulok.

Seeing there Ish Narayan of the gods of white complexion and four arms, who had conch, chakra, mace, and lotus in his hands and was wearing a garland, started praising, "O Lord! You are full of immense power. Mind and speech also can't find you, you have no beginning-middle-end. You are the Nirgun Swarup, the one who destroys the sorrows of the devotees. I salute you.

Narad ji praised like this. Hearing this, Lord Vishnu said, "O Munishrestha! What is in your mind? For what work have you come, feel free to say."

Then Narad Muni said, "All the human beings in the world of death, who are born in many births, are suffering from many types of sorrows due to their own deeds. O, Nath! If you have mercy on me, then tell me that all the sorrows of those human beings are few. How can one get away from the effort itself." Shri Bhagwan Ji said, "O Narad! You have asked a very good thing for the welfare of humans.

The work by which a man gets rid of temptation, I say, listen - there is a great fast, which gives a lot of virtue, rare in both heaven and the land of death. Today I tell you out of love. By doing this fast of Satyanarayan well and methodically, a person attains salvation after enjoying happiness here till the end of his life.

After listening to the words of Shri Bhagwan, Narad Muni said that "What is the result of that fast? What is the law and who has done this fast and on which day this fast should be done? Tell in detail." God said - "The one who removes sorrow, grief, etc., increases wealth, good luck, and gives children, this fast is victorious in all places.

With devotion and reverence, on any day in the evening, one should worship Sri Satyanarayan with Brahmins and brothers in a pious manner. Take Naivedya, banana fruit, ghee, milk, and wheat powder with devotion. In the absence of wheat, take Sathi's powder, sugar, and jaggery and after collecting all the edible things, offer it to God and feed the Brahmins along with the brothers, and then eat yourself.

Spend time remembering Lord Satyanarayana by performing a dance, singing, etc. By fasting in this way, the wishes of humans are definitely fulfilled. Especially in Kali-Kaal, this is the simple way of salvation on earth.

Satyanarayana Bhagwan ki Jai

Second Chapter

Satyanarayana Bhagwan ki Jai

"O sages! Listen carefully, let me tell you the history of the one who had observed this fast in the past," said Sutji. A very poor Brahmin lived in the beautiful city of Kashipuri.

Seeing the Brahmin sad, the Lord who loved Brahmins went to him in the form of an old Brahmin and asked him with respect - "O Vipra! Why does he wander on the earth ever sad? O best Brahmin! Tell me all this, I want to hear.

"The Brahmin said - I am a poor Brahmin, I roam the earth for alms. O, God! If you know the remedy, please tell me." The old Brahmin said that "Lord Satyanarayan is the one who gives desired results. That's why O Brahmin, you worship him, by doing which man becomes free from all sorrows."

Lord Satyanarayan, who assumed the form of an old Brahmin, disappeared after telling the Brahmin all the rituals of the fast. The fast which old Brahmin has told, I will do that, he could not even sleep at night after deciding this.

He got up early in the morning and decided to fast for Satyanarayan and went for alms. That day he got a lot of money in alms, due to which he did Satyanarayan's fast with his brothers and relatives.

By doing this, Brahmin was freed from all sorrows and got many types of wealth. From that time Brahmin started fasting every month. In this way, whoever observes the fast of Lord Satyanarayan will be freed from all sins and attain salvation.

In the future, the person who observes the fast of Satyanarayan on earth will be freed from all sorrows. In this way, Narad ji said this fast of Narayan, I told you. Hey Wipro! What more can I say?

Rishi said - O Munishwar! We want to hear who all did this fast after hearing from this Brahmin in the world. We have faith in this. Sut ji said - O sages! Listen to all those who have observed this fast.

Once upon a time, a Brahmin was ready to fast with his brothers and relatives according to wealth and wealth, at the same time an old man selling wood came and kept the wood outside and went to the Brahmin's house.

Seeing him fasting, the woodcutter, suffering from thirst, started saluting the Brahmin and said, "What are you doing and what is the result of doing this? Please tell me."

The Brahmin said, "This is the fast of Lord Satyanarayan who fulfills all wishes, by his grace my wealth and grains, etc. have increased."

The woodcutter was very happy to know about this fast from the Brahmin. Took charanamrit and went to his home after eating prasad. The woodcutter made such a resolution in his mind that today he will do the best fast for Satyanarayan Dev with the money he will get from selling wood in the village.

Thinking this in his mind, the old man went to such a beautiful city where rich people lived, carrying sticks on his head. That day there he got four times the price of those woods than the previous days.

Then the old woodcutter took the price and being overjoyed went to his home with ripe banana pods, sugar, ghee, milk, curd and wheat lime, etc. all the ingredients of Lord Satyanarayan's fast.

Then he called his brothers and worshiped the Lord with rituals and observed a fast. With the effect of that fast, that old woodcutter was blessed with wealth, a son, etc., and went to heaven after enjoying all the pleasures of the world.

Third Chapter

Satyanarayana Bhagwan ki Jai

Sutji said - "O great sages! Now let me tell you the next story, listen - In the past, there was a wise king named Ulkamukh. He was a truthful speaker and Jitendriya. Every day Dev used to go to places and remove the sufferings of the poor by giving them money.

His wife was a lotus-like face and a sati sadhvi. On the banks of the river Bhadrashila, both of them observed the fast of Shri Satyanarayana. At that time a sage Vaishya came there. He had a lot of money for the business.

He came to the king after stopping the boat on the shore and seeing the king fasting, started asking with humility - O king: what are you doing with a devotional mind?

I want to hear it! So you tell me this." The king said - "O sage, fasting and worshiping the superpowerful Satyanarayan God is being done for the attainment of a son with his relatives."

After listening to the king's words, the monk said with respect - "O king! Tell me all its rules, I will also do this fast according to your words. I also do not have any children and this will definitely help."

After listening to all the rules, the king retired from business and went home with joy. The sage told the news of the fast that would give a child to his wife and said when I have a child, I will observe this fast.

The monk said such words to his wife Lilavati. One day, his wife Lilavati became pregnant by the grace of Lord Satyanarayan, being happy with her husband, and a beautiful girl child was born to her in the tenth month.

Day by day she started getting aged in such a way as the moon increases in the bright fortnight. The girl's name was named Kalavati. Then Lilavati told her husband in sweet words that what she had resolved was that she will fast for God, now you should do that.

The monk said, "O dear! I will do it after her marriage." Thus assuring his wife he went to the city. Kalavati got growth in the ancestral house. When the monk saw his daughter with her friends in the city, he immediately called a messenger and asked him to find a suitable groom for the daughter.

After getting the permission of the monk, the messenger reached Kanchan Nagar and after a lot of search and care, he brought a suitable merchant son for the girl. Seeing that worthy boy, the sage along with his relatives happily married his daughter to him, but unfortunately forgot to observe that fast even at the time of marriage.

Then Shri Bhagwan got angry and cursed that you will get terrible sorrow. The merchant, skilled in his work, went to Ratnapura city near the sea along with his son-in-law and there both father-in-law and son-in-law started doing business in that city of Chandraketu Raja.

One day a thief inspired by Lord Satyanarayan's illusion was running away after stealing the king's money, but seeing the king's messengers coming, the thief ran away in panic and quietly kept the king's money where his father-in-law and son-in-law were staying.

When the messengers saw the king's money kept with that sage Vaishya, they tied both of them and ran happily to the king and said - We have caught these two thieves, see them and order them. Then by the order of the king, he was imprisoned and all his wealth was taken away.

Due to the curse of Lord Satyanarayana, his wife also became very sad at home and the money kept at home was stolen by thieves. Extremely distressed by physical and mental pain and hunger and thirst, Kalavati went to a Brahmin's house worrying about food.

There she saw the fasting of Lord Satyanarayan, then listened to the story and came home at night after taking the prasad. Mother said to Kalavati - O daughter! Where have you been till now and what is on your mind? Kalavati said - Oh mother! I met a Brahmin who have observed the fast of Shri Satyanarayan Bhagwan at the house.

After listening to the words of the girl, Lilavati started preparing for the worship of God. Lilavati worshiped Shri Satyanarayan Bhagwan along with family and relatives and requested that my husband and son-in-law should come soon. Also prayed to forgive all our sins. Lord Satyanarayan was satisfied with this fast and the king.

Seeing Chandraketu in a dream, he said - O king! Leave both the Vaishyas early in the morning and give them all the money that you have taken, otherwise, I will destroy your money, kingdom, sons, etc. By saying such words to the king, the Lord disappeared.

Early in the morning, King Chandraketu told his dream in the meeting, then freed both the merchant sons from prison and called them to the meeting. Both of them greeted the king as soon as they arrived. The king spoke with sweet words - O great people!

You have got such a difficult sorrow in the future, now you have no fear. Having said this, the king dressed him in new clothes and gave him double the money he had taken, and sent him away with respect. Both the Vaishyas went to their homes.

Satyanarayana Bhagwan ki Jai

Fourth chapter

Satyanarayana Bhagwan ki Jai

Sutji said - "Vaishya started the journey after invoking and went to his city. When he went a little far, the dandi-dressed Satyanarayan asked him" O sage! What's in your boat?" The proud merchant said laughing, "O Dandi! why do u ask? Is there a desire to make money?

My boat is filled with vines and leaves." After listening to Vaishya's harsh words, God said - "May your word be true." The Dandi went away from there saying this and went some distance and sat down in the sea. After performing the routine, he was surprised to see the boat raised high and fell on the ground fainted after seeing vine leaves, etc. in the boat.

Then on opening up, he started expressing great sorrow. Then his son-in-law said that you should not mourn, this is the curse of Dandi. Therefore, we should walk in his shelter, only then our wishes will be fulfilled. After listening to the words of the son-in-law, he reached out to Dandi and after saluting with utmost devotion said - "Forgive the untrue words I had told you." Having said this, he started crying in great sorrow.

Then Lord Dandi said - "O son of a merchant! By my order you have suffered, again and again, you have turned away from my worship." Sage said - O God! Even Brahma etc., fascinated by your illusion, do not know your form, then how can I, the ignorant know?

You be happy, I will worship you according to my ability, protect me, and fill the boat with money like before. God was pleased to hear his devotional words and disappeared after giving him a boon as per his wish. Then he came on the boat and saw that the boat was full of money, then after worshiping Lord Satyanarayan, he went to his city along with his companions.

Now reached near to his city, then sent the messenger home. The messenger went to the sadhu's house and greeted his wife and said that the sadhu along with his son-in-law had come near this city. After hearing such words, the sage's wife worshiped Satyadev with great joy and said to her daughter - I am going to see my husband, you complete the work and come soon.

Due to Prasad's disobedience, Satyadev got angry and drowned her husband in the water along with the boat. Kalavati fell on the ground crying not seeing her husband. That's how the boat sank! And seeing the girl crying, the monk was sad and said - O Lord, what a mistake has been made by me or my family forgive them.

Satyadev was pleased to hear her humble words and it was said in the sky, saint, your daughter has left my prasad, so her husband has disappeared, if she returns home after eating prasad, she will definitely get a husband.

After hearing such a voice, Kalavati reached home and ate prasad.

After coming and having a darshan of her husband, the hermit duly worshiped Satyadev along with his relatives. From that day he started worshiping Satyanarayan on full moon day. Then after enjoying the pleasures of this world, he finally went to heaven.

Satyanarayana Bhagwan ki Jai

Fifth chapter

Satyanarayana Bhagwan ki Jai

Sutji said - O sages! I tell another story, listen. There was a king named Lean Tungdhwaj in Prajapalan. He also felt a lot of sorrow by leaving God's prasad. Once upon a time, after killing wild animals in the forest, he came under the banyan tree, there he saw the cowherds worshiping Satyanarayanji along with the brothers with devotion.

Even after seeing the king, out of pride, he did not go there and did not even salute. When the cowherds put the Prasad of God in front of him, he left the Prasad and went to his beautiful city. There he found everything destroyed

He came to know that God has done all this.

Then he believed and went near the cowherds and worshiped and ate prasad, then by the grace of Satyadev, he became the same as he was before, then after enjoying happiness for a long time, he went to heaven. The person who does this very rare fast will get wealth and grains by the grace of God. The poor become free from the rich and the prisoner becomes fearless.

The childless get children and after all their wishes are fulfilled, they finally go to the heavenly abode. Those who did this fast earlier, now I tell the story of their second birth. The old Shatanand Brahmin attained salvation by taking the birth of Sudama. King Dasaratha, named Ulkarmukh, attained Vaikunth.

A Vaishya named Sadhu attained salvation by ripping his son by becoming Mordhwaj. Maharaj Tungdhwaj himself attained salvation by doing devotional work in God.
