॥Shri Mahaganadhipataye Namah॥

Parvati ji asked Ganesh ji that which Ganesh ji should be worshiped on the Krishna Chaturthi of Agahan month?

Ganesh ji said that O mother! In the month of Agahan, worship of Ganesha named Gajananshould be done with the method mentioned earlier. After this Arghya should be given. By keeping fast for the whole day, after offering food to a Brahmin and performing Havan by making ingredients of barley, rice, sugar, sesame, and ghee, then he can control his mind. Let me tell you an old story about this.

In ancient times, there was a king named Dasaratha in Treta Yuga. The king was very fond of hunting. Once Dasaratha went to the forest for hunting and there by mistake he killed a Brahmin named Shravan Kumar. His blind parents cursed King Dashrath that just as we are dying in the separation of the son, in the same way, you too will die in mourning for the son one day.

This made the king very worried. His mind started worrying and he always started thinking about the future. Seeing the king sad, all the subjects also started getting worried. Thinking about this, the king started getting worried. When there was no solution to this thinking, then Dashrath called his Rajguru and narrated the whole story. Then Gurudev told him to observe Ganesh Chaturthi fast in the month of Agahan to calm and control his mind. After this Dasharatha fasted and performed Yagya on Ganesh Chaturthi of Agahan month and since then started fasting on Ganesh Chaturthi of every month, which calmed his mind.

Then later, by the order of the Guru, the Putreshti Yagya was performed. Due to the effect of this fast, the four-armed Jagdishwar himself incarnated as a son in the form of Shri Ram in the house of King Dasaratha and Lakshmi ji incarnated on earth as Sita ji.

When Ravana abducted Goddess Sita and brought her to Ashok Vatika, then Goddess Sita also became very worried about the separation from her husband, then she also observed Ganesh Chaturthi fast. In the absence of Yagya, she worshiped Lord Ganesha with full devotion, due to which her faith was restored and she was able to handle her separation from her husband.
