॥Shri Mahaganadhipataye Namah॥

Once upon a time, Parvati Ji asked Ganesha, "O son! How should we worship the Chaturthi of Jyestha month? What is the name of the Ganapati of this month? What should be eaten in the diet? In subtle form Tell me this method.”

Ganesh ji said, "O mother! Jyeshtha Krishna Chaturthi is a good luck enhancer and a husband giver. On this day Ganpati Ji named 'Mooshak Rath' should be worshiped with full devotion. On this day, food is made from ghee like halwa, Dedicate puri, laddoos, etc. to Ganesh Ji. After feeding the Brahmin, then eat yourself.”

Ganesh Ji further says, "O Mother Parvati! I am telling an earlier history in this regard. Listen to the Ganapati vrat and the method of worshiping it as described in the Puranas."

Ganesha narrated the story of a Brahmin named Dayadev:

In Satyuga, there used to be a king named Prithu, who performed a hundred yagy. Within his kingdom lived a Brahmin named Dayadeva. He had four sons who were complete scholars in the Vedas. The father got his four sons married according to Vedic rituals.

Among her four daughters-in-law, the eldest daughter-in-law said to her mother-in-law, "O mother-in-law! I have been fasting on Sankatnasak Chaturthi since childhood. I have also observed this auspicious fast in my father's house. That's why O Kalyani! Kindly allow me to observe this fast here also."

After listening to the daughter-in-law, her father-in-law said, "O daughter-in-law! You are the eldest and best of all daughters-in-law. Now is your time to eat and drink. You have no inconvenience of any kind and neither are you a beggar. Why do you want to do it? Then why do you need it?" The daughter-in-law did not say anything and kept on fasting.

After some time the elder daughter-in-law became pregnant. After ten months she gave birth to a beautiful child. Her mother-in-law repeatedly forbade her daughter-in-law to observe the fast and started making her helpless to leave the fast. So the daughter-in-law stopped fasting. Due to missing the fast, Ganesh Ji got angry and kidnapped his son after the rituals of the bride and groom at the time of his son's marriage. This untoward incident created a stir in the mandap.

The bride's father started saying sadly, "Where has the boy gone?" On receiving such news from the wedding parties, the boy's mother started crying to her father-in-law Dayadev and said, "O father-in-law! You have made me break my Ganesh Chaturthi fast, due to which my son has disappeared." Dayadev Brahmin was very sad to hear this from the mouth of his daughter-in-law. The sad daughter-in-law for her husband started fasting every month on the Sankatnasak Ganesh Chaturthi.

Once a weak Brahmin who knew the Vedas came to the house of this soft-spoken woman to beg. He said, “O daughter! Give me so much food in alms that my hunger will be satisfied.” That pious girl duly honored the Brahmin and after giving him a full meal, gave him clothes, etc.

Pleased with the service of the girl, the Brahmin said, “O Kalyani! We are very happy with you, you can ask for a boon from me according to your wish. I am a Ganesha and I have come here because of your devotion and love. Hearing these words of Brahmin, the girl started saying with folded hands, “O Vighnavinayak! If you are pleased with me, then let me see my husband.”

When the girl said this, Ganesh Ji said to her that “O girl with perfect thoughts! It will be as you wish. You will soon find your husband.” By saying this, Ganesh Ji became invisible from there. At the same time, a Brahmin named Somasharma brought that Brahmin boy to the city. Dayadev was very happy to see his grandson.

The child's mother was overjoyed and the entire city dwellers were very happy. The child's mother hugged her son and said, "It is only by the grace of Ganapati that I have found my son." Provide him with new clothes and ornaments. Dayadev bowed down again and again and said, “O Dwij Shrestha! It is by your grace that I have found my lost son.”

He gave Somasharma a delicious meal, decorated him with a dhoti, scarf, etc., and gave him Godan and completed the marriage by re-building the mandap. All the ancestors were very happy with this. That fortunate girl was blessed to have found her husband. Chaturthi of Krishna Paksha of Jyestha month fulfills the wishes of humans.

On this day men and women should worship Ekdant Ganapati Ji. O, Goddess! According to the law mentioned earlier, all the wishes of those people who do this fast and worship with devotion and devotion will be fulfilled.
